Is 30 Day Shred Enough?

I did 30 day shred back in February for about 10 days and I liked my results, despite not losing any weight. Now I'm adding Couch to 5k to it 3 days a week, and I'm wondering, will *just* 30DS and Couch to 5k be enough to see decent results in about 6 weeks (or 30 days, ideally!) Or do I need to do more?

I'm currently doing 30DS and Couch to 5k too! I figure this should be enough to see some change, although I intend on going to spin class or just the gym for a cardio session on non Couch to 5k days.

I'm on day 7 and starting to feel the benefits already :-)

Any exercise is going to be beneficial. The question "Is it enough" makes me ask, enough for what? It sounds like a lot to me! If you're asking if it's enough to lose weight, then I would say track your exercise and food intake, and maintain that healthy caloric deficit. If you're asking if it's enough to lose some magic number by a certain day, then well, maybe or maybe not. Just being healthy and doing the right things (tracking/eating right) should be enough! Good luck on your journey! :)

We have no idea, seeing as you didn't give us your goal. Is it to lose weight? To tone up?

I'm wondering the same thing! I do Couch to 5K one day, then 30DS the next. I'm alternating the work outs every other day, and I usually take one day off for the week. I'm just really getting into things, so I'm not sure how effective it will be, but I am already seeing improvements in my endurance and my energy levels! I'm hoping to see some good results over time.

I always combine 30 day shred with some cardio. The results were great - as in how I looked in the mirror- not always in a huge weight lost.
My first doing 30day shred I lost a significant amount of weight. I think it was because it was a huge change in my routine, but when I go back to it, I just get a more leaner/toner look as opposed to a lot of weight lost.

i am starting the 30ds this week! i was planning on alternating between training for a 10k (i'm about on the 4th week) and the 30ds. i hope i see some results! and..when you think about it..after the dvd is over, its only been a few weeks so if you dont see the results you want, you can just switch it up after. its a short enough program where if youre not happy at the end, you didnt waste 3 or 4 months doing it. good luck :)

I was wondering the same thing.I did the 30 day shred a year ago and saw good results quickly. I am starting back up today and was thinking that I may add some extra cardio a couple of times a week to help with getting the weight off!

My goal is to tone up and lose weight - I weigh 159 currently, so it'd be nice to lose maybe 6 pounds or so in the 30 days, more importantly I want to tone up - I'm just wondering if this is enough exercise to see a real difference in inches and how I look in the mirror.

I've seen results with only doing the 30 DS. I know I've only lost 2lbs, but I only had 8lbs to lose. I can tell I've toned up, and that my clothes fit me differently. My thighs are less flabby, and my love handles are smaller. I just bought her ab DVD yesterday, so I think I might start alternating 30 DS and her ab workout and see what happens. I hear the ab workout is more than just abs, and also involves quite a bit of cardio.
  • I really love 30ds! I see results very quickly, I recently started it again this past week and it just makes me feel stronger. I am also adding couch to 5K and a few strength days at the gym. I know that my goals are aggressive, but it's all or nothing I say. :)

I agree- it makes me feel stronger too!

Also, what is Couch to 5k? I haven't heard of this.

YES!!! I began walking , slow jogging back in Feb and lost about 20 lbs, then I added the 30 day shred in and I am on day 23 and I have had amazing results... I am going to keep doing it past the 30 days and add another dvd (killer bun and thighs) as that is my "problem area"
