So I am a 6'1" 26 year old male. I started my weight loss at 237lbs on Febuary 15th. I have lifted a lot of weights in the past and it has been a big part of my current weight lost. Last week I weighed 206lbs. I always weigh myself sunday mornings after a workout so my weigh ins are very consistant. This week I weight 197lbs. That is 9 lbs in a single week. Most people would be really excited about this however im wondering if Im simply losing weight because I am losing the muscle mass I have worked hard to get. This last week i have cut my diet a little and ate about 2100 calories a day and about 200 grams of protien but I do over an hour of hard cardio every day with a additional 1 and a half hours of heavy weights. I want to know if I need to keep my calories up to lose my wieght slower because im losing a lot of muscle mass or if the rate at which im losing recently is ok.

Are you keeping measurements? With as much of a wokrout as you seem to get, I'd think you'd be okay with a few more calories. What weight are you aiming for? Have you experienced strength loss? Do you feel off ? You really need to listen to your body on this one. I know several guys who can lose that much in a week easily, but it varies so much person to person.

Unfortunatly I have not been taking measurments. My goal weight is 185 the highest weight to fit into "Healthy BMI". I have experienced strength loss but I have always exspected that if im going to drop 50lbs. I am still lifting close to my same weight just slightly lower. I feel great and healthy. I have a bunch of energy still. I just don't want to reach my goal of 185 and not be fit and muscular.

You probably aren't eating enough. With your size, age, and workout level you probably need to eat somewhere around 3000 cal/day. You will still lose weight.
