Bad Weekend

Usually I can stay on target for most of my weekend. I will have the occasional sweet or not choose a healthy meal when going out. THis weekend was not good at all. I bought a pint of ice cream to try the flavor, and ended up eating the whole thing. For dinner, I had a work meeting and had 2 pieces of friend chicken plus homemade mac and cheese with bacon. My excuse was "I already ate the ice cream, so why not indulge during dinner".

Sunday wasn't much better. Had IHOP for breakfast, then went to a festival and had flour tacos and another ice cream cone. I am getting back on track today, but I just feel guilty for everything I ate. Anyone else have a completly lost weekend, because of good/different food?

No biggie. Today is a new day.

I had that type of weekend last week. Don't let it hold you back. Just start fresh today

It is a slow and steady process for sure. I have had plenty of bad weekends/days/months/years! One thing that really stuck out with your post was the thought of already having the ice cream, so let's just keep on eating!

Don't punish yourself for a mistake. You will make many more mistakes and somehow, you need to learn it is ok and to just try again with the next meal. it only makes it worse when you compound mistakes on top of mistakes. You like ice cream? HAVE IT. Just try to have less than a pint. :)

Guilt free eating takes a lot of time and commitment. I am just starting to see some changes in my thoughts and I have been working on it for a long time! Go easy on yourself and just keep on trying!

Don't worry too much about it.. =) Just work a little harder today. Add like 10 or so minutes to your workout for a few days.

This is me exactly but it wasn't just this past weekend it's almost every weekend lately. My problem is after I start eating bad I decide not to log my food and then since I'm not logging I might as well get in all the bad stuff I wouldn't eat if I were logging.

No worries....it happens!! Just try to workout harder this week. I wouldn't feel guilty....guilt can lead to depression which can lead to more eating! Good luck!

Yes! this is exactly what happened to me this weekend. I went totally off my usual "good" habits. Instead of letting it get the best of me, I just thought"let's try again", life happens and sometime we are in situations that have too tempting yummy foods we normally wouldn't have.

Nothing like the first cook out and having all the "comfort" foods available. Okay, so I splurged. Hopefully it is out of my system and now I'm back on track.

BBQ at work Friday, splurged on Sunflower Seeds & chocolate Saturday, then had my hubby's dinner Sunday (hamburgers, hotdogs and liquor). So i feel yeah, but today is the start of a new week. So back we can go to the diet :)

This is me every weekend and is my main hurdle. I just go crazy. I used to drink on weekends but gave that up 2 years ago and now it seems I over indulge with food...go figure! Today is another day just start again.

That's almost every weekend with me! I really have to focus on my food or i end up eating almost constantly.

The trick i use is to log what i'm going to eat before i eat it, sometimes just seeing how much fat something has in is enough to put me off!

It's over and done with, so there's no point in worrying about it or feeling guilty. That isn't going to change anything, it isn't going to burn those calories. Take the opportunity to learn from it so that the next time you find yourself in that position, you're better equipped to say, Hey, this isn't what I want to do.
