Losing the double chin

I took my monthly comparison pics today. I'm down 6 lbs from 4 weeks ago and getting close to my target weight (might need to go lower yet). I'm very pleased with my progress but one negative thing that is hitting me in the face or rather probably is hitting others in the face is my double chin  - if anything it seems to be more noticeable than ever before. This didn't particularly bother me -in my pre fitness fanatic days - as in prior to March 2012, but now it does and I want to do something about it.

So do I just keep trying to burn the fat and eventually no more double chin?
Any particular exercises that help?

Any tips would be appreciated.

First place I gain it and last place I lose it Baz. Up until a few weeks ago I dont think I had seen my adams apple for about 10 years. I am sure that you just notice it more because you are being more critical with yourself. There is no particular exercise that can spot reduce fat, it will just go of its own damn accord when there is nothing else left to burn :)

I really want to be toned.. but I dont walk around with my abs out.. I walk around with my face out and want that to be slim also. Its going to take time but im sure it will get there :)

Cheers acresfield. Defo got a lot to do with being more critical of myself. Saw a big difference in my pics between end of March and end of April and was pleased. Actually lost more these last 4 weeks than the previous month and was expecting to be 'pleasantly surprised 'once more but the change is less noticeable - (FWIW profile pics have not been updated with this month's) - what just stood out was the double chin. Anyway I'll forge on, hopefully as you say just keep burning the fat and it'll go when there's nothing else left to burn!

I posted a thread a while back showing the reduction in my double chin based on starting running. High intensity cardio seemed to really help mine (though of course, long ways left to go LOL). I'll find the post and come back to link it.

Great stuff - had a quick look at that other thread - you made some marvelous transformations. I've been doing a lot of exercise - but very little running. I love the exercise routines I'm doing of late, but I'll defo have a serious think about throwing some more running in if that's what it takes.

Well, my other option was lipo LOL. It was actually going to be my goal for hitting my first goal (which I should do on Wednesday). But given the recent progress on my chin, I think I'll wait a bit yet! But I remember when I'd lost weight before (I've never been thin) I always still had at least a saggy chin. Yuck.
