Anyone have this problem
Alittle while ago my supervisor said wow your waisting away you really need to stop loosing weight ( I hadnt lost any weight from when she said I was doing well)......Now today almost a month later she tells me wow your looking good, you put some weight back on eh??
I must be acting girly because I am offended...now I am self concious did I loose inches or gain?? I think I am going to start taping myself
Sorry for the vent:sad:

I hate when people say I look good because I gained weight. My recommendation is to tape yourself, maybe once a month and try not to pay attention to others' comments. Also, I'd be pretty offended if my supervisor made comments like that, unless you're close (most of my supervisors have been men, so I'd be creeped out if they commented on my body).
Edit to say that I've had family members make comments when I had gained weight (15lbs -ish) that I looked better now that I was fatter... needless to say that was the kick in the pants I needed to start losing weight. It was hurtful and I'm pretty sensitive to that stuff.0 -
Yeah, it's a she and I know she just cares for her junior sailors. But yeah I would be creeped out if it were a guy lol.. I was just thinking to myself today that I felt alittle bloated from having ice cream last night (milk messes my stomach up )0

Well if you aren't comfortable with the comments one way or another, I would speak to her about it. I told my family that they need to stop commenting on my weight (unless of course I'm at an unhealthy low weight).0

Sometimes people will say whatever it is they think you want to hear, whether it makes sense or not. I had a coworker-friend who was the same height as me but SKINNY- I'm not kidding when I saw she was a model-gorgeous girl, complete with the "perfect" body. She used to tell me I was skinny and would comment on how much weight I had lost (when at the time, I was doing nothing but gaining and weighed at least 70 lbs more than her). It actually frustrated me because I wanted REAL support, not someone to just tell me how great I looked when I KNEW I didn't. She had great intentions but they completely backfired.
IF you put on muscle recently it could also be that she's associating the change in your shape and tone, with change of weight.
I would definitely go with measuring yourself and maybe take pics in the same outfit every month or something.0 -
Hi Hey it is okay to vent A real friend will listen and will help you through the tough times!! I know I have gooten looks from people I know and they still ask me if I have lost and how much and if I am going to go below what I weighed when I got married. I just think that someone should tell them that is a myob. I am starting to do that. We know what feels right for our bodies and can do what we want!!0
