BIG Goals!

Hi Everyone,
I figured I'd throw a topic out there, just in case anyone else wants to chat, share ideas, or just cause general trouble.
I've also been big, but not as big as my post-college years (including now). I've had ups and downs, highs and lows, successes and regressions, and now I'm taking a new approach. Feel free to comment on any or all of the items below, I'm just throwing thoughts out there to spark conversation.
Ultimate Goal: lose 200+ lbs
Mini Goal: lose another 50lbs from where I am today.
Foods:
Sugar is my devil. I can fight snack food cravings fairly well, but have struggled with sugar. I've 'developed' a nice visual system of when my gf and I allowed a treat. We are going to take poker chips and use them as currency of sorts. Every great day with eating, or awesome gym workout, or combination of both, we are going to put one in a cup. Every time we get a few in there, we'll cash them in, and go get a reasonable treat. Of course every time we completely blow it, we'll take one back out. My hopes is to provide a more controlled system to our little cheats, instead of forgetting about the ice cream we just had yesterday.
Exercise:
I enjoy the gym, always have. I used to play football, baseball, golf, etc. However it took me until I was 27 or so, to realize that I should not be working out as a football player would, but should be working out as a golfer or volleyball player would, as that's how I spend my time now. I'm never going to be a football player again. The great plus of this realization is that things like core strength and flexibility are great for both sports, you can still do them at the gym, Just need to spent a little more time on the elliptical, and a little less doing bench presses and hip sleds (not eliminating completely of course).
I have also come to the realization that I personally cannot maintain a 4 or 5 day gym schedule. It doesn't work for my schedule, for my head, or for my interests. We walk the dog more, play tennis, golf, etc, get the activity in in other places than just the gym, and then when winter rolls around spending a little extra time at the gym isn't so bad, since it's a short term increase.
Stop in, say hi.
I think it's good to spent here often as it keeps me in a good mindset. All comments and criticisms welcome.
Happy Monday
Jay
