swollen hands and feet

Hello, i started this website on the 3rd may at weight 252.2, i had lost 3lbs until this week i now am weighing in at 250.6, my feet and my hands are slightly swollen in the last few days, as when i first started going for my daily walks it was hard then it got easier, but now its like really hard, my lower front shin and ankles really hurt and i have to stop for a couple of rests on my usual walk that i do and thats a leisurley pace, i started of not drinking much water at all and in the last few days i been drinking more upto about 5/6 cups a day, can anyone tell me if they had this same problem to start with and if so what can i do to stop it or control it??

Due to the walking your body is most likely retaining water.
When I first began walking, I would wake up in the middle night with horrible shin splints. You need to do some stretches first before oyu start walking. Make you sure oyu are drinking water before, during and after your walk to keep the muscle hydrated. Try to get in at least 64ozs a day.

sorry to hear you're in pain. I get this too if I walk a lot, when the weather gets warmer and TOTM. I was once told by a nurse it is poor circulation and is water retention.
Yep, you hear it nearly every post as a cure for all, but drinking lots of water does help! If you've just started drinking more, carry on, I expect it will take a week at least for your body to adapt.
I also take water retention tablets and that helps me.

I was very heavy (136kg) when I started losing weight and I actually wore through several pairs of shoes by just walking on them.

I invested in a decent pair of runners recently and they have made quite a difference.

The more you walk and the more weight you lose the easier it will get.
