Morning all.

I'm looking for a really healthy (no high fructose corn syrup) and tasty bread to replace the bread I'm using (Ezekiel). Ideally it will be multigrain and be relatively high in fiber. I'm not worried about carbs. However, it must be 80 cals or less per slice. Any suggestions?

Please, if toasts up like cardboard I'm not interested haha

Thanks

M

Arnold's Multi-Grain Sandwich Thins: 100 cals per roll, which is made up of two slices.

Nature's Own Honey Wheat Bread: 70 cals per slice.

I've been eating Oroweat bread. I like the Healthfull Nutty Grain. No high fructose corn syrup like you asked. 80 calories a slice. 150mg sodium (6% DV) Fiber 5g (20% DV)

    Ingredients:
Whole Wheat Flour, Unbleached Enriched Wheat Flour [Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Reduced Iron, Niacin, Thiamin Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Folic Acid], Water, Wheat Gluten, Oats, Inulin (Chickory Root Fiber), Wheat Fiber, Yeast, Sugar, Cellulose Fiber, Polydextrose, Molasses, Toasted Sesame Seeds, Salt, Wheat Protein Isolate, Cracked Wheat, Sunflower Seeds, Cultured Dextrose And Maltodextrin Raisin Juice Concentrate, Wheat Flakes, Flaxseed, Whole Wheat, Datem, Oat Flakes, Barley Flakes, Triticale, Monoglycerides, Corn Grits, Rye, Amaranth, Wheat Germ, Cornmeal, Citric Acid, Calcium Sulfate, Grain Vinegar, Stevia Extract (A Natural Sweetener), Ethoxylated Mono- And Diglycerides, Soy Lecithin, Calcium Carbonate, Monocalcium Phosphate, Nuts [Walnuts And/Or Hazelnuts (Filberts) And/Or Almonds], Rice Protein, Whey, Soy Flour, Nonfat Milk.

I'll admit, I am still learning about some ingredients. What is best, what is better, worst, what to avoid, etc.

Another one I like is Oroweat Jewish Rye.

70 calories a slice. 140mg sodium (6% DV) Fiber 1g (4% DV) Not entirely high on fiber.

    Ingredients:
UNBLEACHED ENRICHED FLOUR [WHEAT FLOUR, MALTED BARLEY FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMIN MONONITRATE (VITAMIN B1), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), FOLIC ACID], WATER, RYE FLOUR, YEAST, SOYBEAN OIL, SUGAR, CARAWAY SEEDS, CORNMEAL, WHEAT GLUTEN, SALT, MONOGLYCERIDES, CALCIUM PROPIONATE (PRESERVATIBE), ASCORBIC ACID (DOUGH CONDITIONER), SOY LECITHIN

**Edit, I find both kinds toast up nicely. Not hard though.

Sandwich thins are full of preservatives and never a good choice. They are much better at places like Trader Joes.
