Question for heavy bag hitters

I have been working on the heavy bag for almost a month now, and i already notice a great increase in speed, accuracy, and the power behind my hits. I had real bad issues with my form and how to hit the big in general until i watched a couple of youtube videos on form. My biggest concern is after working out i can feel a dull aching pain in my upper arms. It doesn't last long, but am i going to hard?

How long do you workout on heavy bag?

What, you mean like DOMS but instant?
    ...

Usually I do about 15 minutes, but it involves kicking and elbows too.

It's usually my shoulders and biceps. It always hurts after workout.. I use to think it was climate change because my gym is in my garage, and when i finished up i would go in my house where i keep it cool. Yeah it feels kinda like DOMS but instant.. Not 5 min after workout it sets in and last for about 30-60 min.

I hit, kick, and elbow the heavy bag too, but can't say that I ever had that problem. Wish I could help you with that.

I usually do between 3 to 5 five minute rounds with a minute rest in between. While hitting the bag, in each round I also drop down and do pushups, do prisoner squats or lunges, hanging leg raises, and pull ups. That way I get a little strength training while I'm at it.

I love hitting the heavy bag. That was my workout for yesterday as a matter of fact.

I am happy you ran across this posting. There are hardly any heavy bag hitters here. As of right now i am doing intervals of heavy bag, jump rope, and pull ups 5 min each with 1 min rest in between. How long have you been at the heavy bag?

I'm glad too! Most recently I have been hitting it since December. I had shoulder surgery last June to repair my right rotator cuff, along with bicep tendons, having bone spurs removed, and part of my clavicle shaved off. I wasn't allowed to hit the bad until December. Before that I had been hitting it for about 3 years which had been about 5 years since I worked out with it.
