Im sure its been asked before but is there such a thing as too much protein? Im burning anywhere from 600-900 cals during my workout daily im very good about protein and i know your body needs it to recover and help the muscles however i go over pretty much daily sometimes not by too much somedays like yesterday -74 over. Im always under everything else and pay very close attention to calories and fat. Basically i wanna know if its always good no matter what or if going over by that much will effect my weightloss in a negitive way? meaning im not helping myself.

You most likely couldn't eat enough protein in one day for it to be bad for you. MFP sets protein intake at a minimum. I would suggest changing your percentages so that your protein intake is at least 1g/lb of Lean Mass. Lean mass would be more accurate, but if you don't know your body fat %, just do at least 1 g/lb of total weight. Some people will go as high as 2 g/lb of lean mass, but that's on the higher end for leaner individuals.

I have read different articles that say too much protein is only an issue if you have kidney issues. From what I have seen of MFP's numbers the default setting really isn't high enough to worry about. If you aren't tripling the number I wouldnt worry.

This article talks a bit about the symptoms of too much protein:
