Quit Smoking...

Okay guys..... I quit smoking today.. I put the patch on, and after 18 years of smoking, I am putting the cigarettes down!! Enough is enough!! I have had health problems lately, as well as asthma... so lets just say I should not be smoking to begin with.. I started smoking when I was roughly 14/15 years old... my whole family always smoked so it was almost a givin that I would start as well. All my siblings smoke, my mom smokes, my husband smokes ( well he is actually quitting with me)...

It is just time to get completely healthy.. My doctor told me I was at a high risk for a stroke because of my weight and because I smoke.. Well I don't plan on crossing over to the other side for a VERY long time!! I would appreciate any support on this matter.. If anyone has any good tips on how to curb the cravings and how to NOT gain wait while quitting, I would greatly appreciate them!!!

Thanks alot guys and wish me luck!!! :)

    Congrats!!!!!
It may actually help for you to invest in a e-cigarette. Not to actually smoke it (although you can get them with 0 nicotine)...I was just thinking it would help simulate the feeling of a cigarette being in your hands. That's one of the top things I hear people that are quitting talk about...they need something for in their hands. Or maybe a straw cut in half (that would be cheaper).
As far as eating, my best friend invested in a lot of sugarfree gum and candy. Seemed to help him. Or lollipops.

I quit 2 years ago using the patch, only took me 3 weeks of wearing the patch and I smoked for 27 years. You can do it, and you will fill so much better! GOOD LUCK! and to your father also!
