Happy Monday everyone!
The kids are so excited right now. My mom is here through Friday, so they're enjoying "Camp Grandma". They're going to do art, cook, play w/ bubbles, read stories, etc. They're enjoying the summer, but they're both ready for school to start again too. (36 days 'til 1st day of school :noway: ) Will misses his friends and wants to be able to see them every day. Samantha is SO excited about starting Kindergarten and making new friends (she did tell me the other day that she misses her friends from preschool).
I'm going to work on the same things as last week:
8 glasses h20
stay w/in my cals (bigger challenge this week w/ mom here - brought baked mac n' cheese)
walk 1/2 mile on treadmill
pedal 6 miles on bike0 -
amy, good job keeping your eye on the prize.
my goals this week are to stay closer to my cals and upping exercise to 2x/day with a total of at least 70min.
i have been slacking on my eating and it's showing. :grumble:
off to do a little dog training with the puppy.0 -
anyone out there this week?
yesterday: met my goals for water and had fruits and veges. YAY
did one workout not two. and didn't walk the dog in the evening b/c it was pouring.
TODAY: will get my 2 workouts in!!0 -
Hi! I weighed in this morning and I lost 1.2 lbs from last week! I didn't really do well yesterday though. I didn't make any of my daily goals. So far, I'm doing better today on my eating and h20. I need to find time to exercise this week, even w/ my mom here. She was in charge of dinner last night, so it was fattening. She then said we all need to eat healthier the rest of this week, so maybe she's starting to come around. We're going out to eat tonight to a local restaurant. Luckily, I can order my burger w/ a side salad instead of the fries that it comes with. Someone told me their Buffalo Shrimp Salad was really good, so I might try that instead.
Sorry about ranting about my mom when she comes to visit. She's like my best friend and worst enemy all in one.0 -
i'm glad that you have a relationship with your mom that works!
enjoy your dinner!
and congrats on the wt loss!0 -
nobody out there??
how are you all doing this week?
my water is going well. i'm doing ok with cals too (for the first time in ages). haven't been getting in that 2ndworkout of the day.
hmmm
will see how i can fit it in tomorrow as i know i won't be able to on friday. i have a friend coming in town (to meet up with her college friends on the Strip) and we'll have the day together (with the two little ones).
Today was my middle girl's LAST day of preschool. She had already graduated but now she's completely done.
:ohwell:
i'm happy for her but that's been such a feature of my life this last 1 1/2yrs, it's weird to have it end. kwim?
well, must go bring in whining puppy. later chicas--0 -

walked the dog and did kenpo x.
great morning so far! hope your day gets off to a good start too!

Good morning! I haven't done as well as I had hoped this week, but I haven't done as badly as I usually do w/ my mom here also. We took the kids to the pool yesterday, and I got a couple good laps in.
Mom brought chocolate fudge w/ walnuts on Monday, and I was proud of myself for not eating any until Tuesday. But yesterday I ended up eating 4 pieces (luckily, they're really small pieces). We threw the rest out so I wouldn't eat them.
Just found out this week that dh's 20th High School reunion is Oct. 17. So I have 86 days to get into better shape.
I hope everyone is having a great day!0 -
hi guys been busy doing thee garden up shoveled 7 tonne of gravel dug up a crap load of soil to lay the 7 tonne of gravel and planted loads of plants then had to cover the bases with mesh the joys of owning dogs.

my hs reunion is oct 10 and my dh's is oct 3. definitely a great motivator! in fact, when my dh got his invitation, he decided it was time to lose that flab!
good move with the fudge. sometimes it's best to just toss it--better in the trash than on your **
plus that takes enormous courage to throw out a yummy. so good good for you!0 -
hi vicky! good to hear back from you! still have the puppy. still whines A LOT but also is learning to settle back down. i think (i hope i pray) we are on the way. she graduated puppy class! and did pretty well if i cansay so.
also working on getting her to sleep till 5am. Not 4, not 4:30.
5 AM is wake up time.
i think the main thing is that she needs a little more stimulation and exercise in the day to tire her out.
will get there.
i don't know why you think the yard work exercise! that was tons of heavy labor. good for you.
hang in there!0 -
Hi Chicks! I'm so happy right now! I just weighed in at 150.4 lbs! I actually lost almost a half a pound with my mom here! Last time she was here I gained about 2 lbs.
I'm going to keep active this weekend. We're hopefully going to the pool this afternoon too. And, of course, I'm going to keep drinking my h2o! That seems to really be the key ingredient for me losing weight. I've even switched to ordering just water w/ lemon when we go out to eat, and I order unsweet tea at the few fast food places we go to. Of course, I have to add splenda. :drinker:
Stacey, I'm glad to hear the puppy is doing better.
And yes, Vicky, the yard work sounds like exercise to me too! :flowerforyou:
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!0 -
WTG AMY!! :drinker:
You should be so proud--not only for losing wt but for doing better this time around. Each improvement is a victory!
Our weekend has been fine so far. The girls played REALLY nicely all afternoon yesterday.
The dog isbetter BUT she can still whine tons. And she's still up at 4:30AM. We are seriously considering finding another home for her. While i know it will all get better, it might just be too much on our plate right now. I feel guilty but also would be relieved to have less "work" to do. Also, I know i've given her a good home these last two months. So that makes me feel better too. As for the kids, my oldest will be sad (but not as sad as i orig thought) and the baby will be even more sad (but he'll forget this down the road).
I'll keep you posted. :frown:
alright, off to exercise.
congrats again on your success!0 -
tough decision stacey but you have to do what is right for you and your family just make sure you are certain before you do as you dont want to regret it later. The puppy stuff does get easier with time but no dog is mature until they are 18mnths and passed the teenage time (thats when they get really bad)
Ok I have got to get my self into gear I am doing nothing but eating crap and not exercising always making excuses and I am fattter than I have been for quite a while this all stems since the pregnancy marriage problems and I ws shopping in town today wondering what everybody must think look at that fat cow and wishing I could just stay at home til I sort myself out I feel trapped in someone elses body this isnt me.
Tomorrow I am starting Jillian Michaels banish fat boost metabolism and walking the dogs tues will be a bike ride or 30 mins on the elliptical wed banish fat thurs bike/elliptical plus dvd because I am away on fri so got to make up for it. Plus I will not eat crap I will stick within my calories and I will drink all my water and an extra glass or so for luck.
I need to change and I need to do it NOW becuase I hate my body I cans do this.
I want to lose 14 to 20 lbs before the kids go back to school (will weigh in tom really nervous I know it will be up prob 14lbs or more) then same again by my birthday I want to be 13 st or under by my birthday 13th nov it is my 30th this year and I want to have a party but if I am this fat still I know it will just pass by with nothing special I am embarresed by what I look like.
Thats my rant over and I am going to get up tomoworrow with a positive attitude.0 -
vicky--thanks for your rant! it's sometimes that vanity that keeps us on track.
i know reading your post has motivated me to skip the ice cream that's "for the kids"
and i just grabbed another glass of water.
i think it's great that you have a schedule of your exercise for the week.
now, put it on a sticky and post around house. And a NO CRAP sign on fridge, pantry, freezer.
you're very active and have come this far--and you're not even 30!! don't give up.:flowerforyou:
thanks for the loving advice re: puppy. the girl came by and her dog did not like cinnamon. she bared her teeth at least 3x and cinnamon kept going over to be friendly. cinn also nuzzled rt up to the adults b/c she is a super friendly dog. AND cinn even sat nicely. their dog not at all trained.
so they were a NO GO for us.
I felt a lot of relief. but i still have to figure out if we can manage this all going forward. it's not just the puppy stuff but the whole taking care of a dog for the long haul ahead.
i thought i was ready for this responsibility but 2mon into it and it's wearing me out.
anyway, thanks for listening.thanks for your sound advice.
and will chat more later
HAVE A GREAT START TO YOUR WEEK!0 -
so far so good it is 3pm and I did jillians banish fat I thought I was going to die I really struggled towards the end to do some of the moves my arms and legs were like jelly and I was un coordinated. Treated myself afterwards by slapping on a mud pack and a conditioner treatment on my hair feel good now I have also clean the kids carpets so they smell fresh and I dusted and hoovered throughout so not stopped all day. I have stuck to my meal plans for the day I treated myself to a box of granola bars and they make a tasty snack.
Gotta go gonna walk the dogs and take my god son with me he is slooking sleepy and I have him for the next hour or so then it is time to cook dinner and off to flyball for our last training session before the tournament this weekend we will be racing on sat afternoon so wish us luck I just hope my dog doesnt let the team down I am sure he wont.
Have a super monday all.0 -
