Granola bar recipe - can I add more egg white?

Hey everyone! I made some homemade granola bars today and they turned out to be fantastic. My only problem is that every time I cook something I wind up think about how I can make it better. :P These bars were yummy, but also have a lot of carbohydrates relative to protein/fat.

My question is whether I can add a few egg whites to boost the protein or not? I have a feeling it might make them a little more tough to eat... but I'm not sure how else to boost the protein (and I don't want to use a protein powder). I know the best way is to just DOOO IT but I just made this batch and don't want to waste a bunch of ingredients making five more until I perfect it haha.

Here is the recipe in case anyone wanted to see the ingredients:

I was also considering reducing the flour/sugar (I used whole-wheat flour) but I have a feeling if I do that while simultaneously increasing egg whites I might have a brick when they're done.
