Starting day 1 of C25K! :) Wondering about tracking calories burned w/o a heart monitor?!

    I always wear a heart monitor. Because, while the formulas used on the site are only as accurate as the information you give them.


    Example: you input running for 30 min @ 6mph, but in reality you spent 20 min a 6mph and 10 @ 5.5.
    this will throw off the caculations.


    Your own metabolism will also play a large role in accuracy, I've noticed that I burn about 30 more calories per 45 mins than the site say i sould have.

    Heart monitors on fitness equipment seem to come close to the site's figures, as well.
