schedule question for runners

I'm just easing into running right now...more of a fast walk and jog right now. I am wondering what your running schedules look like? What other exercises do you do? Do you do strength or anything else on days you run too? Thanks!

I run 5 to 6 days a week (or I did, I recently got into biking). I would try and do speed work on a couple of those runs, for me I just picked up my pace in the chorus. I also do weight lifting for my upper body and some lower body but mainly just lunges and squats. Hope this helps! :happy:

I run 4 days per week. I ususally do anywhere from 3.5-4 miles. Every four minutes in my run i increase the speed for a little over a minute, I get great results when i do that. I also do the elliptical once a week for something low impact. I need to do more stregnth training, but i don't do much. Also, make sure you have a great pair of running shoes. I recommend going to a running shoe store, they can do some diagnsotics for ya. Also, runnersworld.com is great! You will notice how easy your body gets into the stride of things in just a couple weeks. You will be jogging the whole time before you know it!0
