Novice Jogger- Tips and advice much appreciated

Hi everyone
Just started this week getting up at 6am and going for a jog I downloaded a schedule from the internet
Wk 1 - Warm up walk for 5 to 10 mins, run for 1 mins walk for 6 mins repeat 3 times then warm down
Doing it on alternate week days so Mon Wed Fri, and on Tues and Thurs still getting up at 6am and having a walk instead to keep in in the habbit.
Obviously as the weeks increase so does the amount of jogging and the walking decrease......
Any tips or advice...... I am 195lbs and hoping this will boost weight loss if eating sensibly.

Go to a specialty running store and get fitted for proper shoes before you get too far into it. The correct shoes will eliminate many of the overuse injuries that can occur when you are just starting out.
Just keep with it. It's addictive.0 -
