Sanity through a spreadsheet.....

I was feeling discouraged about my lack of progress last week so I decided to make an Excel spreadsheet to track my progress. I made several columns - ones for the date, daily weight (taken in morning), calories consumed, exercise, the day in my menstrual cycle and a column for comments.
Results were really astounding! I could see trends - success when I did the right things, gains when I didn't. Predictable water-weight fluctuations as well as sugar cravings or particularly "hungry" days or "down" days or really energetic days.
I'm going to keep doing this because it allows me to see the BIG picture and not get all upset when I have an off day or two.
Just wanted to share that this helped give me perspective and keep motivated. Peace!
