    Not really the post count perse. More like how does one with a high post count "survive" long enough without swinging at bat and missing 3 times

    Depends.

    I have over 5,000 posts and no strikes. Lots of warnings though. I try not to cross the line when possible, or I just avoid topics where I feel like strangling someone altogether these days.

    FWIW, I do work all day also. I put in about 15 hours yesterday. Part of my work is literally monitoring computers so they don't crash while compiling large volumes of data or code. Lots of downtime. I spend time chatting on here instead of playing games.

    It's not really a "chatting" board.

    In addition, there is the whole social networking side of things - lots of posting takes place on posters' walls or via pm.

    There are a few reasons. Some people don't go to the threads because of the ridicule they feel like they receive so some people tend to friend people and post on their status updates.... .JMO
