New to site, "expert" dieter

Hello I'm Jody, new to site. I've been through so many diets in so many years, I am now simply counting calories with the tracker here at this site, and also exercising. I hope the "eat less, exercise more" advice from my Mother and all my skinny friends works this time.

I have 97 pounds to lose. It will be a long haul. I get easily disheartened and obsess over food. My skinny-needs-to-gain weight husband tries to help by reminding me, which of course annoys me. So, here I am on these boards hoping for advice and support from those who know what I'm going through.

I'm excited about all of this--because this time I am truly committed. I'm doing it for ME, no one else.

    I completely understand. I have tried diet after diet but nothing ever stuck. I started this a little over a week ago and it seems to really help. It make you much more concious of your food and exercise decisions plus the support is great. If you have questions or just want to vent theres always someone who will read and respond. Welcome to the next chapter in your life I'm sure it will be a good one.

    Congrats! And I was you and I started in jan expecting it to be a longer harder road but now I am nearing the 70 lbs down and its been easier than expected and quicker than I planned! You can do this lean on us as much as you need because that's why we're all here!
