HRM

I just bought a new HRM. I have seen several posts in which people say that MFP gives generous calculations for calories burned, more so than their HRMs do. However, my HRM gives me a way higher calculation than MFP does. Now I am not sure which is best to go by. My HRM takes my age, gender, and heart rate. Neither my height nor weight are included in any of the readings provided by it. Any thoughts or suggestions?

does your HRM include your BMR and sedentary activity ?
For example I might burn 60 or 70 calories an hour. If I exercised this might increase to 260 or 270. Would the HRM show 260 or 60 ?0
