Tattoo Ideas

Ok, when I reach my goal I want a tattoo. I want something meaningful that represents my journey and never going back again. I was thinking on the inside of my wrist so I can always see it when I need a little motivation. Does anyone experienced with tattoos have any recommendations or ideas?

I always associated loosing a lot of weight with being free, and showing is always better than just words.

I have a butterfly on my wrist, different reasons but it could work for you. A butterfly starts as a plain catterpillar crawling along through life and ends up a beautiful butterfly - transformation. I don't know how to put pics in here so ill chuck it on my profile if you want a look.

I plan to get a tattoo to commemorate the completion of my first 1/2 marathon. I am looking at doing one on October 28th, and if I make it, I plan to get the silhouette of a runner, and possibly the numbers 13.1. Not sure where I'm going to put it yet, though. I have six already, so I'm running out of prime real estate. Maybe I'll put it on my left ankle or somewhere on my leg.

I have dozens of tats, but the two that are most meaningful to me are:

    1. One on my wrist that says "Non timebo mala, quoniam tu mecum es" which says (in latin) "I shall fear no evil for thou art with me"... one of my favorite biblical scriptures. It's pretty much my life motto, for anything and everything that I do. And it has a cross right below it.

    2. I have a skin-removal scarification on my calf of a hibiscus - it's not so much the scar that is meaningful, but the process of what I went through. It reminds me every day that if I could go through that kind of prolonged physical pain - with NO painkillers or medicine of any kind - then I can handle just about anything, physical, emotional, mental, etc. The scar didn't turn out as dark or raised as I'd hoped, even with the hydrogen peroxide and lemon baths, but it's just barely visible and still reminds me that I can do anything.

When I lose all the weight I need to lose and finally reach my goal, I plan on getting my entire back done in a framed mural type style. So excited!
