Sodium...Good and Bad?

This is probably a REALLY stupid question and I apologize if it is but are there different types of sodium? For example good vs bad. When I was looking at the breakdown of my burrito bowl from Chipotle the other day I saw that the 2 different salsa's that I had put on it added almost 1000 mg of sodium. This is just a little less than the amount of sodium than was in the lunch meat I had for lunch today (which I know is loaded with sodium). Needless to say I was surprised.

So I guess my question is is there a difference in sodium based on where it comes from?

Thanks!

Sodium is an element. It's the same wherever it comes from. If you hear otherwise it's BS.

I'm not saying sodium is a problem, just that the element Na is Na however you dress it up.

Yup, so such thing as good or bad really. If you are in a high risk group you will want to stay under 1500 mg no matter if they are from chicken or table salt. http://highbloodpressure.about.com/od/understandyourrisk/tp/risk_tp.htm

Sodium is and always will be created equal.
