less food = more anxiety?

I have been sticking to my diet plan really well the past few days and I'm noticing that all of the anxieties and insecurities that I usually avoid by numbing out or distracting my self with food are hitting me full force. It feels like I'm walking around without skin. I know I need to manage my feelings in healthy ways and I'm doing that, but dang its exhausting! Some days it just seems like it would be soooooo much easier to scarf a bag of Cheetos and start over tomorrow. Of course if I do that I will just defer the problem and feel worse tomorrow. Would love to add some female friends who are dealing with similar issues and want to explore these issues in more depth and support each other. Thanks!

I am fairly new to this myself and have found the same thing. It is pretty bad because it just shows we were numbing ourselves with food... So far I have found it helpful to call a friend and chat or you could try writting in a journal. I think getting over this would be a huge step in the right direction... good luck!

Feel free to add me for support! I'm a chronic binge eater. It's great that you are aware that you cope by eating. I find exercise helps a lot, so does talking to a friend. Find something you like to do.

Walking is really good for that, time to think. I believe it also has to do with it being lower intensity which means more oxygen is going to your brain than if your muscles were chewing it up like they do with higher intensity exercise, which makes you feel better.

Oh my gosh. I'm sitting here on my laptop doing something I would normally do and I'm having total anxiety. I never thought that eating less would be the reason why. You said you felt like you are "out of your own skin". That is EXACTLY how I feel. I don't like it and I'm really uncomfortable right now. I need it to go away.

Have you tried exercising when you get feeling that way. I know when I get anxious I put on my I-pod and running shoes and head outside as quickly as possible....within 20 minutes my head is clear and I'm feeling great again!
