stress eating

So a little background: I went to college and came back this summer 15 pounds heavier. I found that a lot of my weight gain was due to stress eating during finals time. When I'm not sleeping enough or super stressed out, I get this insatiable hunger and no matter how much I eat I still feel hungry. It's not even an emotional problem, I just physically feel hungry all the time and crave fatty/sugary foods. Why is this?? Does cramming make me hungry?
