Set Diet Goals
Staying motivated means keeping your goals in visual sight and I mean literally. List down all the reasons why you want to lose weight and add more reasons to that list as they come to mind. Make it a habit to read this list every time you wake up so you keep your focus on these reasons.
Set an Ideal Weight
It's imperative to know what your ideal weight is instead of aiming for an unrealistic size.
Set Motivation Dates
If you happen to be heavily overweight, plan for activities all year round to stay focused. Set yourself motivation dates for special events - birthdays, reunions, thanksgiving, etc. Ideally, losing 1-2 lbs weekly should be your target, so use that to calculate how much you should have lost when your motivation date arrives.
Establish Weight Loss Rewards
Many find weight loss programs prohibitive which makes losing motivation all the more common for these individuals. This doesn’t have to be the case. Any weight loss plan needs some form of reward, except food, of course.
Every milestone you achieve in your weight loss, you should find a corresponding reward, say, a beauty treatment or spa. Buying clothes that fit you now should be another form of reward that will make you want to stay on the program until you reach your ideal weight.
Take Before and After Photos
Finally, take pictures of yourself at different stages of your weight loss program, much similar to before and after treatment pictures you see in ads. That should make keeping motivated all the more achievable for anyone, don’t you agree?
