I have done pretty good on watching the sugar, but am having trouble with the salt in take. Everything has salt. i looked at my report and even the fresh green tossed salad had 74 mg of salt according to the report. I red the threads and they say salt will cause your weight to to go up and down. I drink plenty of water. even if I don't add salt to my food, I go over..What are some ways to cut it down? I appreciate the input.

You havent got sodium listed on your macros in your diary so I can only take a guess where's it's coming from. The only things that immediately stand out are soy sauce and processed meats like sausages and burgers. Try adding it to your macro list then you can see which foods are high in sodium and maybe look for alternatives.

Have to say it looks like a nice diary otherwise :flowerforyou:

Thanks for your input!! I get fresh ground hamburger from the butcher, but the sausage I can understand,.How do I add this to my macro. and what is the macro?
  • It is in the settings when you look at your food diary.. Plus you need a scale to weigh the ounces of meat that you eat..

Water won't do much, its more about your sodium/potassium balance

Thanks all I really appreciate your input! I figured out how to add the sodium through my settings so I can keep track. I have a scale to measure weight..however not sure if I am supposed to measeure it raw, or already cooked. If I put 6 ounces of hamburger on the scale, and its 80/20 it shrinks to aprox 3 ounces. If I put three ounces on the scale raw, it shrinks to about 1 ounce..not much to consume.. I have a grocery budget and some weeks the ground hamburger is cheap and can be spread out over a couple days. I may bite the bullet and order the leaner stuff. My hubby likes the other says it has more flavor. I do buy chicken alot also. Again thanks to everyone:love:

Try to limit processed foods. They are loaded with sodium.

Anything processed and a lot of low fat/low calorie items are full of sodium. Canned soups are a killer as are frozen meals and lunch meats.

Everything has sodium in it, just some more than others.
