A few things Ive learnt

Hey Everyone

Just thought it might be a nice idea to share a few things Ive picked up through my time on myfitnesspal. I joined last year just wanting to lose a stone I had put on almost certainly down to too much beer and takeaway. I joined up and was given my 1200 calorie daily goal and at first wasnt really sure what I was doing i.e. do I eat exercise calories or not :/ I made the age old mistake of becoming obsessed with keeping below that red line of 1200 a day and then not wanting to ruin it would then lie to myself about what I'd actually eaten. The other mistake I made was not eating exercise calories back which as someone explained to me later you are already in deficeit by only eating 1200 so its absolutly crucial that if you burn calories off by exercise you need to ensure you eat them back to prevent your body's metabolism from slowing down. Another mistake was eating the wrong kind of foods I thought because I was running and burning calories I could reward myself with takeaway and beer when your body needs good food to perform well. Anyway to get to the point I wasnt very succsesful became frustrated with the scales never budging and eventually gave up.

But obviously as you may have gathered I'm back for another shot at this with a real kick *kitten* attitude I am determined this time. Still on 1200 goal making sure if I do exercise to eat them back Ive upped my running to 4 times a week and at least 4 miles each time. Ive introduced core strength exercises ever other night which has improved my running too. I think alot more about the types of food I'm eating needs to include protein and carbs for my running and fresh fruit. Yes I have one naughty night every week where I eat what I want and have a few drinks in the long run this keeps you motivated :).

I'm doing alot better this time and I notice the differenct in the mirror and how my clothes fit. Hope this helps people because I know how frustrating it can be especially when its only a little weight you want to shred its always harder.

:)
