It's crazy, I try to eat good, been staying under the calories, adding exercise to my daily routine, doing more moving in general...but nothing. If I do lose an ounce, the next day it's back.
Is it because I'm cliniclly menopausing? Could this fact be what is pulling me back so much? I get so freaked out and depressed about it that I don't feel like making an effort.
Last night I totally freaked out and ate half of a McCain cake. I was really angry with myself but I just didn't have the energy to stop myself.
I'm tired of trying and trying and never getting any results.

May I suggest not watching the scale for one. I do that, and our weight fluctuates on a daily basis. I used to get so stressed about it I would cry. My husband threatened to take away the scale and hide it from me. I only weigh myself once a month now. When you want to eat something your not, get moving instead. Give yourself ten minutes and tell yourself it isn't worth it, hopefully by that point the feeling to eat will pass and you have burned some calories in the prcess. I know it is hard to get a grip on, but I know you can do this! We all need some motivation!0

Thank you or your support.
My problem is not scale watching, I hate the thing. I just noticed that I weight myself one day and the next time I do, what ever I lost is back or the darn thing isn't moving.
This week is just nuts. I'm eating at all kind of weird hours. Not sleeping well at all, accepting all and any excuses to eat anything and not caring if I exercised enough.
I'm kicking myself into high gear today and going to be more concious of my actions.0 -
You sound somewhat like me. I have been hypothyroid for 16 years and have made a serious (and stalled) effort since November 2010 to lose weight. I've done a number of fitness programs and finally realized that as many calories as I burn and with the way I eat (90% vegan & healthy), there is no WAY I should be this size. I found a doc who's both an MD and a DO (natural doc) who specializes in hormones and thyroid. Find one where you live and GO. FYI, they typically don't take insurance. If you go to stopthethyroidmadness.com, there's a listing there of docs (if you're in the US). Good luck to you!0

It could be menopause. My coworker's sister was having the same issue. I think she was on HRT, once she stopped that, the scale started moving in right direction.
Do you weigh yourself at the same time of day?0 -
Don't let it get the best of you. You are making that decision on your own. You just have to say no once in awhile. You will thank yourself later. The other day I was at the grocery store and i have been craving candy like whoa. well i put some marshmallows and some mike and ikes in my cart and walked away and a minute later, I said "what the hell are you doing" and i walked back to the candy isle and put it all back. You have to train yourself. You know what is best for you. You just have to get your brain and your body to agree that at this time, maybe you should put it back. It takes willpower, but I am sure you have it in you.. I wish you all the strength in the world!0

have you been reading my mind? I've been feeling the same way lately and I'm seriously discouraged. I've been trying to give myself a mental pep talk this morning. I figure if I keep it up and don't give up eventually it'll start coming off.
I do think the no scale thing is a good idea. I need to try that for sure.0 -
Thank you for your support.
I went for a mall walk during lunch and went into a store (not plus size but they do have 2XL) to see what I could try on for sumer dresses. I usually wear 3X or even 4X for some models. I noticed that 2X was not too far from fitting nicelly (just too snug at the stomach), so I told myself that I need to get back on track and get back to the store for fall/winter clothes and check it out again.
I know my biggest mistake latelly is not taking the time to do a "real" grocery, making my lunches, etc. So I'm going tonight to get back on track 100%0
