Since I started using this app 4 weeks ago I've had a couple of people tell me that you need a calorie defecit of 3,500 calories below your "maintenance calorie expenditure" in order to lose 1 lb of fat. Someone posted an interesting topic yesterday highlighting that you therefore need to increase your intake by 3,500 calories to gain 1 lb of fat and included a couple of examples of what you'd need to eat to get this many calories. My brother is actively trying to put on weight at the moment so I thought it would be both fun and informative to see how many real examples I could find of 3,500 calories.
I'll start:
1.1 Kg of wholewheat pasta
18 Pints of Guinness
3.33 tubs (500ml) of Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream.
13.5 Mars Bars
