I am going to a 50's dress up party this weekend (sat) and I have a costume in mind. I want to make it myself but I don't know what it's called. I've googled everything that I can think of.

Here is the description. It's an image of a girl wearing a bandana backwards so the knot is in the front, she is flexing her arm and she is always shown side view. I don't know if she is a cleaning girl from old school soap ads, or an army girl or a mechanic.

Here is a video of pink that shows what I am trying to go as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjVNlG5cZyQ

(If link doesn't work just go to You Tube and search pink - raise your glass)

I have no idea what to wear for pants and I am looking for other info on what this woman really Is and who she was if possible.

ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!

THANKS!!!

I don't know how much matters but Rosie is more of a 40s character (WWII). It's a great image though.

I knew it was close to the right era but after looking at all the info everyone provided I think I have to change my plans. Now to figure out some other bad-*kitten* costume from the 50s.

I am so being Rosie for halloween though!!!

thanks everyone for the links/info.......hey now that I had to change my costume can anyone think of any cool 50s costumes that arent poodle skirts or typical housewives???
