Has anyone participated in a "Warrior Dash" race? If so, which state/location? What did you think of the experience?

I just did my first this past weekend in Maryland. Loved it. I can't wait to do it again. It was so fun and pretty challenging. I get bored of simply running races (I've done many 5ks and a half marathon). So this type of thing was right up my alley. Give it a try. Get a group of friends together and make a day out of it. An awesome workout, a free beer and turkey legs after the race? Can't beat that.

I did it last August in MA! It was an absolute BLAST! It was the first time I did anything like that and I cannot wait to do it again! I suggest trying it! If you look through my pictures, I have some up from when I did it! Good luck!

I did Warrior Dash last May 5th in New Mexico and I'm doing it again in Colorado, August 2012. I might also do the MerrelI Down and Dirty (similar to Warrior) in June here in Colorado.

It was a fun experience. For me, I like obstacle courses than running a 5k.

Thanks, everyone, for your input. I've been doing a lot of running, so it might be fun to put that training to the test. We'll see.

I did Pennsylvania last year and LOVED it!

I wanted to do it again, but couldn't wrangle up friends and family to join me this year. :ohwell:

I did it alone in MD this year. You don't need others do things!

I did my first Warrior Dash last June in Logan, Ohio. It's a lot of fun and a great challenge. I followed it up with last November's Tough Mudder in Indiana. I did the April Tough Mudder this year in Michigan/Ohio and I have the June Warrior Dash coming up next weekend...again in Logan, Ohio.

Once you do one, you may find yourself hooked on mud races. I have four more following the Warrior Dash this year!

I did VA last fall and MD last weekend. It was A LOT of fun and each course had its unique challenges. VA was a relatively flat course with about 7-8 obstacles and MD was hilly with 11 obstacles...so what I mean is check out the web site and get an idea ahead of time. All fitness levels/ages/ shapes/sizes run in these races...and they really do get crowded, most obstacles have bottle-necks, which allow you to rest a bit if you're not in top physical shape. It's also a party, fun-type atmosphere, so grab some friends and cheer each other on!!

Me too!! I was so afraid I would do more damage and it took me an hour to finish, but I finished injury-free. Hell, I'm more sore from yard work today than the WD last weekend!!

Hey, Jeff. I was actually considering the Logan dash. However, I would have to drive down (about 65 miles one-way) and be back and at work by 2:00. So, that might not be practical. Still, I'm going to check on whether any other dashes are coming up within reasonable driving distance on a Saturday that I don't have to work.

It seems that a lot of MFP folk have given this a try. And I haven't read a bad review yet.
