Why do you do it?
(Unless you can convince me you've experienced or know absolutely everything that ever has been or will be , then it is not necessary.)

Could definitely see how small wee wee syndrome could be a possible factor :laugh:0 -
Because it's easier to write off everyone and everything then to take the time to explore what could be...0

Basic laziness of the human mind to categorize everything...some people don't even pretend to try to fight it.0

But...but...that is a generalization because it implies that all people who overgeneralize are male!!!!!

Because their small minds just can not grasp what you are saying!!!0 -
Because, unfortunately, until they discovered the forums, they probably didnt have alot of variety in their audiences. They were probably used to only speaking their narrow-minded opinions to their like-minded friends and peers. Many probably had no idea that they were generalizing, nor that so many people have differing opinions than they do.
Its sad that the first time they encounter variety and diversity, they are so shocked that they think their new audience is simply nitpicking on their world choices, and not proving that other realities are indeed more than possible, they are all around them and they need to wake up and see that the world is bigger than their livingroom couch.
WHICH THEY SHOULD GET OFF OF.0 -
Is it possible that different people do it for different reasons?
Nah, back to your regular conversation, continue with the overgeneralization of overgeneralizers!0
