The Evil Scale. Or is it?

I don't own one anymore. I'm not sure if I'm sold on determining my health by the numbers that stare back at me. I think I'd rather use a tape measure, my clothes, and performance testing to determine if I'm at a healthy weight. I'd rather lose body fat and gain lean muscle, and weigh more as a result.
But, I'm not sold on the idea the scale is evil either.
What kind of scale do you use, and is it fairly accurate?
