Food for the day, any advice on better choices?

I am nursing twins and some lactation consultants and OB's say you need as many as 2700 calories a day when exclusively nursing twins....seems a little crazy to me, but I'm not counting calories anyway! I am doing WW (had great luck with it after my son was born a few years ago). I'm trying to make healthier choices, but I just wonder what else I could change. Obvioulsy I know some things aren't the best, but I would love some ideas as to what to replace them with. I get 40 points a day with WW and usually "add" food in to get to that number of points a day. I haven't used any of my weekly extra points (49) or any of my activity points I've earned (since Sunday I've earned 50). Which when I called to ask about nursing twins vs one baby (you get 14 points for nursing) they told me to make sure I'm using ALL my points and then if my milk supply suffers do +7 and then +14 if needed. So far so good and I am not even using anything past my daily 40 points. I eat pretty much the same things every day.....I'm not tracking calories so I'm not sure how to enter them here?? I'm just tracking everything on the WW site. I'll put the points in () if anyone cares to know!

Yesterday

Breakfast:

2tbs fat free creamer (0)
1 packet of splenda (0)
1 cup of coffee (0)
1 8oz glass of v8 vFusion (1)
1 banana (0)

Lunch:

2 slices of Natures Own Double Fiber Wheat (3) -- I did change my bread to Sara Lee multigrain bread that's 45 cals and 1 less point today when shopping)
2 tsp mustard (0)
4 slices of turkey (2)
1 slice of swiss cheese (2)
1 Jello Cheesecake (3)

Dinner:

1 Lean Cuisine Pizza (9) - I try not to do Lean Cuisines a lot, but I have 4 kids under 5 so sometimes its just so easy)
2 stalks of celery (0)
1 cup of carrot chips - raw (0)
1 serving of Ranch (2) --- ww recipe

Snacks:

1 pack of strawberry oatmeal (4)
1 slice of double fiber bread (2)
1 tbs of sugar free apricot preserves (1)
more carrots and celery (0)
ranch (2)
2 cookies (3)

My ranch is made with

1/4 cup mayo (I use regular since it's not much overall)
1/2 cup fat free plain yogurt)
1tbs apple cider vinegar
basil, onion powder, minced garlic

I definitely have cravings for sweets, so I'm trying to have a treat or two here and there, but maybe I shouldn't everyday?!? My weigh in isn't until Sunday, so I can't say if I'm losing (I think I am), but I really just want to eat HEALTHIER.

ETA: all I drink otherwise is water, occasionally with crystal light.

    Suggestions:
Apple rather than banana - less sugar and better for digestion (eat the skin too)
I've been told that white cheeses are better for you than yellow ones
For sweets try to have something with natural sugar (natural confectionary company lollies) rather than stuff like cheesecake (i miss it so so much!) As that is not only packed with sugar but its a more fattening option too
    Hope that helps :-)

I would take out the strawberry oatmeal and replace it with old fashioned oatmeal. It is much healthier for you, and you can still microwave it, and you can add natural sweeteners like actual strawberries, or blueberries (my current fav) and some honey.

Real oatmeal is also better for lactation, it's a natural galactogue!
And can I just say way to go for nursing twins! Very awesome :-)

    Thanks both of you!!!!

I have a big container of real oatmeal, I need to start using that and save the packets for the kiddos!

Nursing twins is TOUGH!!! I nursed both my boys so easily with no problems and my body has been struggling to keep up nursing two! Trying to eat healthy and lose weight, but not sabotage my milk supply while doing it! I've been trying to eat oatmeal once a day. I was eating lactation cookies (with real oatmeal and brewers yeast).....but those aren't the best for weight loss ;-)
