Had this passed on to me and made them tonight. Super good and great right before exercise. I omitted the coconut since I'm not a fan, but adding dark chocolate or raisins may take them up a notch as well! I also used Vanilla protein. It gives a great oatmeal cookie flavor :) Enjoy!

Coach Lee's Energy Balls

Energy Balls:
1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup oats, 1/3 cup flax seed, capful vanilla,1/2 cup coconut flakes, 1 scoop protein, 2 tble spoons local honey, 1/3 cup chopped almonds.
Mix, refridgerate for an hour, then roll into balls.

Do these have to be refrigerated after you roll them?

Hehe Stephanie! I may do that!

It would totally depend on how big you made them as far as nutrition goes, but these are the facts based on mine which were 2 Tbl. sized balls (which is plenty..very filling!) and I just used the regular crunchy peanut butter in my pantry which is where most of the calories are coming from. If you used a lower sugar or more natural, it would change things. I tend to be calorie paranoid about what calories are worth it. According to coach, these are 'worth it' calories. Filled with so much good for you stuff!

    Calories - 175
    Carbs- 13
    Fat- 11
    Protein - 8

Having one with an egg for breakfast and it's flipping awesome! :)

Grind the flax, otherwise you miss all those omegas. They just go right through you, untouched. Looks like a great recipe though. I have some almond butter I might try using in it. Thanks for the recipe!

These are yummy! But I use coconut, chocolate chips, flax, oatmeal, pb, honey, nuts and vanilla. Mine only come out to 90 calories per ball and they're so deliciously addictive!
