Hello, I am in the Air Force and have 2 kids, ages 3 and 1. I need to get back in shape so I can pass my PT test. I need to either be 167lbs or have a 29" waist. I think that the weight is more attainable... even though it is 35lbs!! My waist is currently 34.5" but being tall I really don't know how much smaller it will get. I think that a 5'9" person with a 29" waist is darn near impossible!! I have been running for 30 minutes M-F averaging 2.6 miles a run. I am also doing a full body weight lifting routine MWF. Despite all of this I am not losing any weight, in fact I have gained a pound! I know that it is probably muscle... but it sure is annoying!

Seems like a cool site, see you all around!

    Welcome Kathy.
You may be surprised how much diet makes a difference. You can do this.
    Best of luck:flowerforyou:

Welcome and best of luck to you!
  • Welcome, I also have a 3 year old and a 1 year old, as well as a 13 year old. Looks like your already well disciplined when it comes to excercise. I read somewhere that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% excercise. Again welcome, and thanks for all you do for our country via the air force.

Yes, I know that eating right plays a big role. I have done Weight Watchers in the past, got too expensive so now I am just trying to apply the different things I learned through the years of doing it. Not currently counting points... but the point values still seem to pop into my head when I am contemplating eating something. I have lost 23.4 lbs since Nov 06. It has just sorta plateaued right above 200. So irritating, I would sure love to see the 100's again on the scale! Hopefully by the end of the month I can kiss the 200's goodbye forever!
