Beta carotene vs. Carrots....

Here's a really stupid question, but one that is very important to me: If a product lists "beta carotine" in it's ingredients - is this simply carrots or extracted FROM carrots?
I've had an allergist tell me that I'm allergic to carrots and have had some pretty serious outbreaks in the past. Since losing weight and changing my diet to a much more healthy one I haven't had the same allergic reactions that I've had to some of the other foods I showed positive towards. A few have gotten much worse.
I'm hoping SOMEONE can give me an answer....

Beta carotene is just a fat soluble compound found in green plants, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, spinach, apricots, and green peppers. It doesn't mean you're eating carrots. Beta carotene is essential!!0
