Food is a passion for me. I still let myself enjoy foods, but my goal is to be more mindful of portions and remember to eat healthier when I prepare my own food.

I tend to like more salty foods for breakfast than sweet. What are some healthy recipes you make for breakfast during the week?

All I can think of is egg white scrambles and omelets or tofu scrabbles. Help a foodie girl out...:ohwell:

jimmy dean makes light sandwhiches and stuff that are gooood. breakfast is awesome and theres nothin better than a sausage egg and cheese bagel..so my favorite is the whole wheat bagel with egg white cheese and turkey sausage. Microwaves in like 2 mins, great on the go.

If I have time on weekends and stuff you can do like a breakfast taco thing with scrambled egg sub/ egg whites, red. fat cheese, veg, low carb tortilla

Please ILoveMyPitBull, don't take offense, but I don't recommend the prepackaged sandwiches like Jimmy Dean. They are full of preservatives and sodium. Instead, remake your own from scratch! You could even precook your eggs and bacon in a muffin pans for individual sandwich sizes that you can quickly reheat during the week. Saw that time saving idea on Pinterest.

Lately I've been eating an egg white breakfast burrito.
    1/3 cup egg whites
1 tablespoon green verde salsa (or whatever salsa you prefer)
    2 oz Mild cheddar cheese
wrap it all up in a whole wheat tortilla (I use half)
approx 140 calories (220 if using whole tortilla)

I douse mine in Cholula (because I LOVE Cholula)

Pair this with a nice piece of fruit, say a grapefruit, (even a piece of turkey bacon or two) and you have yourself a low-cal, delicious and nutritious breakfast that only takes a few minutes to make. Really, egg whites cook in like 2 minutes in a hot pan.

    Good luck!

Great idea...I forgot about spicing my egg whites up with a bit of homemade salsas. I love cooking so I have no problem making things from scratch. My problem has been finding savory breakfast foods that are not eggs.

Not eggs... ever make yourself a smoothie? I use one Greek yogurt, frozen berries, spinach (you can't even taste it), a scoop of Flax Seed and then ice/water/juice/water you need to make it "smoothie" consistency. Just don't add sugary juices. If you need to sweeten it up use a little honey.

I throw it in a big cup with a straw and drink it on my way to work.

I've started posting some recipes on my blog page also. I haven't added any breakfast yet, but feel free to follow along
