Best running shoe for achilles issues?

I hurt my achilles a few months ago... wore a boot for 6 weeks and am now all healed. Want to buy a new pair of running sneakers, but I'm not sure what to look for? Do I want a stabilizing sneaker or something with a higher heel? I am considering the Nike Lunar Eclipse 2+. Any suggestions/recommendations would be much appreciated!

Go to a specialty running store and get fitted. Make sure you let them know about the injury. They will probably put you in something that has a good differential in heel/toe drop and maybe even and insert to take some more pressure off the Achilles.

I have a running friend with the same issue. He is in the new Running Brooks. But you also need to be fitted by a professional...to be sure it is righ for your foot and needs

Brooks makes over 100 different running shoes.

It's really important that you don't go into this looking for a particular brand, because what works for me may not work for you. Be open minded and don't ever worry about what they look like.

Thanks - I will get myself to a running store this weekend! Yes, I tried to take the easy way out and do research online, but not sure why I'd chance it with such a risky injury.

I have a problem with my achilles tendon as well as my knees and back and I wear Brooks Glycerine 9. I went to a running store to be fitted. Glad I did because when walk/running in these shoes i am basically pain free.
