I got a bodybugg 4 wks ago. Been trying really hard, keeping an eye on cals in/out. BB says TDEE is around 2200, been eating 1500 ish cals. Scale going up 2, then down 1. Have lost Nothing.nada! Could it be because I rarely get enough sleep? 5-6 hours most nights, sometimes 7. Ive just yesterday taken my cals up to 1700. Someone with my same stats on here says they eat 1985 cals. Should I bump it up higher or go down to 1200 & try some melatonin? Geez! Thought the bodybugg would help, but I'm not getting it yet. Somedays my TDEE 2300, am I eating too lIttle or not getting enough sleep ?

Cannot emphasize the importance of quality sleep enough.

"If your goal is to lose fat, skipping sleep is like poking sticks in your bicycle wheels," said study director Plamen Penev, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine at the University of Chicago. "Cutting back on sleep, a behavior that is ubiquitous in modern society, appears to compromise efforts to lose fat through dieting. In our study it reduced fat loss by 55 percent."

My own personal experience--I've often had significant losses whenever I have gotten a stretch of extra sleep.

Does sleep count if you are taking melatonin or execedrin pm to help you get/stay asleep?
