Pedometer with calorie counter.

Looking for good brands and models for a pedometer that not only tracks how how far you walk, but also how many calories you burn in that period of time. I don't want to spend too much money, but I really don't want to buy one that is not accurate or may fail on me in a short amount of time. All info is appreciated!

Well all pedometers will be inaccurate because they don't take heart rate into consideration... and heart rate is essential if you want to estimate calories burned accurately.
I suggest you look into an HRM.. You can get a Polar FT4 for 60 dollars on amazon. It will count calories but it doesn't do distance.0 -
Love my Fitbit0

The FitBit is great for monitoring your normal daily activities, walks, etc. but I agree that for exercising, especially any sort of cycling or weight training, an HRM really is better.
That said, none of them are really accurate, they all give a calorie estimation. That's just the way it is.
I use a FitBit and Polar FT7 combo. About as good as it gets.0 -
I highly recommend the Fitbit! It's not 100% accurate but it's pretty close! You can find one for $80ish on ebay. It also tracks your sleep patterns.
The best part is that you can sync it to MFP and it will update your exercise diary and calories automatically! Oh, AND you can earn points for free stuff on Earndit with it!
I really love my Fitbit. It's huge motivation.0 -

Hey that's my combo, too! I love and swear by my Fitbit. I wear it 24/7 - well - unless I'm bathing. If it only was water-proof! :-) I also love my Polar FT7. While the Fitbit does an awesome job of counting my steps and stairs (and tracking my sleep), the HRM is far more accurate because it monitors your heart rate. :-) Don't be put off by the Fitbit's price. It's on the expensive side for pedometers, but it's totally worth it! Plus, like a previous poster said... you can actually find it on sale (I've seen it for as cheap as $75) or at a discount on eBay!0 -
