Recently I came across a post of a young lady who "appears" to be severely underweight and "maybe" suffering from an eating disorder. She says she used to have one, but no longer does. However her BEFORE pic looks amazing and her after made my nerves jump. There were a few ppl on the thread who had the courage to say something, others however thought they were being "hateful". But I knew in my heart they were just concerned. How do you respond to a post like that? I didnt want to discourage her when she was so proud of her weight loss and if she actually has a conditon that she is in denial of I didnt want to make it worse for her. So I said nothing because there was no way i could praise her efforts. I felt so bad. what do you do? I cant help her :indifferent:

I know exactly what you're talking about and honestly, since this is the internet there's not much you can do. Everyone that expressed their concern for her pretty much got called a "jealous fattie". If it was someone you knew personally, I'd say talk to their family or close friends but since it's just a stranger on the internet all you can do is say a prayer (if you believe in that) or just wish them the best. Think about it this way, if you saw someone scary skinny walking down the street, would you say something to them? Don't worry too much about it. If she says she's healthy then all you can do is take her word for it.

Yes, you are right I can only pray. She was just so excited and wanted to tell everyone unlike a stranger on the street who wouldn't say a word. I read the post and realized I shouldn't say anything, though some ppl felt it necessary out of concern for her health.
  • I felt the same and share you're concern.
