Hi, what leeway do you give yourselves, i was thinking 2 or 3 lb either side of actually target weight. does this sound reasonable? what does everyone else do?

Thanks in advance

yes I'd say 3lb either way is a good target, anything over that, back to basics, anything under that increase cals :) well done btw!

I agree 2-3 pounds either side of goal weight has been working for me. I have been on maintenance now for about 4 months.

Caitlin that sounds perfect as it should take into account daily fluctuations. I would suggest to track weekly rather than react to daily fluctuations :) though.

Another option would be to maintain based on measurement rather than weight? Or a least track both.

I've always been a reluctant weigher, I'm not bothered oboist the scale number, what I can do and how I feel and look is more important to me. But I do weigh because MFP needs that weight for the calorie calculations. So, do you need to weigh during maintenance?

Might think about doing on a percent basis, rather than pounds. 3 lbs for a 200 pound guy is a workout of water weight on a hot day. Much diff for a 125 lb woman (for example). So maybe 1-2%. Congrats on your success.
