Extreme Soreness?

Yesterday, I started running again. It was only a mile, but I still felt accomplished. I've also been doing vigorous sit ups every day, and miscellenious cardio. At the end of each work out, I do yoga to stretch and cool down. Today I woke up and my abs were so sore that I could only do about half as much as I usually do. Is this a sign of progress, or should I go a bit lighter on the workout? Thanks!

Okay, so I'm speaking from a personal standpoint here. In way it is what you should or should not be doing. But personally, I love it when I'm sore the next day. Generally the best way to get rid of soreness is to exercise those muscles. That being said, your body also does need a break as well to recuperate. I think you should just go off how you're feeling.0
