Can I lose weight without a HRM?

I have read that the calories burned on this site isn't always accurate but is it possible to lose without a HRM?

This week alone I spent $20 on pea protein powder (I have a breastfeeding son who's allergic to dairy) and another $40 on a set of cap dumbbells.
Who knew getting in shape would be so expensive?

    Yes.
basic point is that the machines at the gym aren't the most accurate, and the exercises you can select on here aren't totally true to your body type/fitness level. I would assume there are sites out there where you can input your weight and figure out the calorie burn, but having a HRM is the most accurate. I found that the machines at the gym were anywhere between 50-100 calories off from my HRM.

I only got my HRM a few weeks ago, and I was losing before that, just be honest with yourself.

Of course you can. I'm down 70 pounds without using one. I go by what the treadmill says, and I keep it calibrated for my current weight. It seems to work fine.

I think it's far more important to get regular exercise than it is to count it super accurately.

^^I totally agree. I was thinking of buying a HRM but honestly I've already lost close to 50lbs without one so I'm not going to stress myself out on getting one. 1st off they aren't cheap and secondly I don't think even that is 100% accurate. I mainly do a lot of walking and I've checked with a few different websites and all the numbers are pretty close to each other so I just log and keep going.
