Hi all,
I am new to this site and thought I would introduce myself.
At Christmas 2011 I was really overweight and struggling getting out of my bed and off the settee along with being very breathless. The other major turning point was going to my partners Christmas party and being the fattest person there, with people staring for all the wrong reasons.
From that moment I vowed by my partners next Christmas party I would not be the fattest person there and for people to stare for all the right reasons.
On NYD I decided to set my NY resolutions:
To loose weight
To maintain my weight
To exercise and get fitter
I am still keeping to my resolutions. I started at a slimming group on the 3rd of January weighing 267lbs.At 170cms I was morbidly obese. My blood pressure was also up. I am sure this is the heaviest I have ever been. I was shocked but also happy that I had made that decision to sort my life out for me.
I did take a picture on that first day as well as measure various parts of my body. Monthly I take photos and re-measure myself.
Along with the group talking about healthy eating etc, getting weighed in they also have an exercise group after 'class'.
I am registered disabled after having a work related accident so I was really nervous of doing any for of exercise and was I going to be able to do any of it. I decided to go for the full membership which meant I could attend more exercise classes during the week at no extra cost. I easily adapt my exercising to suit my abilities and am loving it.
The first week I lost an incredible 11lbs and, although I have had 4 weeks of not gaining or putting on recently, due to injuring myself, I remain very up beat and focused. I have muscles developing where I have never had defined muscles before.
In total I have lost 501/2lbs so far. Yes I do have a way to go but I will get there with my goal in the forefront of why I am doing this.
I do 6 sessions of exercise per week with the slimming club as well as 2 sessions per week doing Boxercise and circuits.
I have gone from a UK 22 to a UK14/16 so far and have dropped 43ins altogether off various parts of my body.
I remain positive most of the time. I have a great network of friends at the club and we all support each other.
My only wish would be that my partner was more supportive and stopped trying to sabotage my plans.
I am not viewing this as a diet but as a life style change and breaking bad habits.
I still have the odd treat but on the whole I am good.
Finding this site has been fantastic as I now can log everything exactly and it really makes me think about what I am eating as well as ensuring I am exercising regularly  .
So all good.
Hugs

Well done on your progress so far.
Welcome and feel free to add me as a friend if you wish as I find that it helps when the temptation is there to wonder how others will feel about what you are doing0 -
