Has anyone done this program? Did you stick with it?

I just got the book last week and have started the basic program. I like the way everything is laid out for me I can just follow what it says I don't have to plan anything. I picked the book because I can't afford to get weights or go to the gym (I already pay for Krav Maga class and can't afford anything else) and I wanted to work on strength training to keep some muscle mass while I continue to lose weight. Especially since dialysis can play havoc on my LBM.

Also I totally thought from doing handstands and headstands so much when I was a teen I could master a 1 minute headstand, I barely made it 11 seconds before I fell over, HA. At least I can still get up easily.

So anyway, has anyone else read this book or started this program and what do you think of it?

  • I'm really keen to do it! I'm worried that I don't have the self-discipline to follow it through yet so I'm working on building in 90mins exercise at the gym into my day everyday first for a few months, then I'll work towards cutting down from structured exercise to including convict conditioning, c25k, etc - self-driven stuff.

I'm not sure if you're still wondering, but I have read the book and am working on the exercises. Probably the hardest part for me is taking it slow. In the past my workouts have consisted of doing my max each time. Having read the book I see the wisdom in taking it slow and that's what I've been doing, even though it's tough. I'm on the first steps for all but squats and pull ups. i actually skipped step one on squats because it was too easy to do it wrong and hurt my neck.
