    Are you sure it didn't say 450 calories? That would be a lot closer! Or maybe it said "45 min."?

    Anyways, I'm 155 lbs. and don't get too sweaty on the elliptical and my burn rates about 10 cal/min.

    Like folks say, get an HRM. If you've got an iPhone 4S (note the "S"), then I highly recommend Wahoo's Blue HRM! It's low power bluetooth to your iPhone and it rocks!

    I agree: get an HRM (with a chest-strap), you won't regret it! You will be actually surprised to see how many calories you actually burn in a single workout!

    Thanks for all your posts, you've been a massive help. For now I'll average both number out, then buy one of these polar things. Quite happy they come in pink ;) haha
