How do YOU use your MFP?

...the site not the actual pals themselves!
What's most important in your MFP experience?
Of course I use the Food & Exercise log, and check the forum posts regularly. However, I must admit the social aspect of this site... "Rocks like that dude from Foghat."
Personally I love messages dropped lackadaisically on my profile... <--- (This is a friendly reminder YES you do have a profile and if you're not careful someone might just come along and start a blog on your profile, start inviting people to read, you should check it every now and then.)
What part of MFP do you ?
Is it seeing a PM notification or finding a message from your newest friend Al, Betty or Sue?
Or is it that friend request that makes you giddy? How about finding the most obscure item in the Food Database, or adding your own?

The app came first. Then the full site, reading the forums and stories. Then I started adding friends with similar goals or those who had reached theirs, as inspiration. And then i found the funny ones, the people who made me laugh with their posts and blogs. It snowballed from there.
I came to MFP for the fitness aspect. which I still love and am very serious about even though it doesn't always show in my daily posts.
I stay for the people as much as anything now. I have built some great relationships on here and it keeps me going.
And i especially look forward to those randomly placed comments or PMs from a certain OP...0 -

Oh I plan to revisit this many times...0 -
I started using the site and found a group for people with over 100 pounds to lose that I actively participated in for several months.
Once I approached my initial weight loss goals, I started using this more for the social aspect. I am obviously committed to being fit and healthy, but the people on here are what keeps me logging in every day (and I think I am well over 600 days at this point). I love that they make me laugh, make me think, and just make me grateful to be a part of this community.0 -
I'm new to the site as well and I actually joined specifically for the message boards and groups I don't currently use the site to track my meals or my exercise as I'm still a big fan of my old school notebook lol But I might get there eventually as I'm getting closer to my goal weight.....if I need to start tracking protein/carbs/fats more accurately.
Besides a rocky start by choosing a thread on a specific meal replacement (and then kind of being attacked ), I have found the information here to be super helpful and most people to be very helpful and supportive! This community is by far the best for healthy living/weight loss out there!
And yes, I was pretty excited when I got my first couple of friend requests0 -

the ease of tracking my food ( unlike some over loaded sites)
2nd would be the forums - read them all day long ( no i do not have a life  )
3rd would be the support i get from my friends, when something is posted to my wall0
