Good morning Pebbs!
I didn't go for my run this morning. I wanted to but I need to get some things done around here first thing.
I was getting discouraged about eating better the last several days, in fact last night I didn't want to cook so I had DH pick up something for me. Mexican. And I have to tell you I didn't regret it. It tasted really good. I am realizing that having stuff like that every so often isn't so bad, but when I am at home I need to stick with what I am doing. The scale hasn't budged (same two pounds lost that I've been losing for months), but I put my shorts on this morning that I haven't worn all week and they are actually loose! What I can't figure out is where the fat is coming off. My back? Nothing else seems or feels any smaller. I will continue what I am doing for now. I had one day this week that I thought I was going to pass out but I haven't had another day like that so maybe things are balancing out. Still feel like gagging over salads though. :grumble:
Anyway, today is:
more garage sale stuff (is it over yet?)
get to the store (not an official shopping trip. That will have to come later.)
Alex's OT is coming this afternoon
clean up the house
find some time to escape reality for a bit.
Pray we get lots of traffic tomorrow!
Preparation boogaloo!

Hi ladies,
Busy day today. I was going to try to go to a morning spin class, but I got up too late. This a.m. I have the dentist (I really, really hate the dentist), the chiropractor, and then I'll go to the gym for an elliptical/weights session. My trainer has been putting together homework assignment workouts for me that I do at the gym one more day a week. I'm trying to incorporate a heavy weights session (with her) and then a lighter weights session (by myself) later in the week. I just want to see muscles. I confess!
I picked up a copy of Oxygen magazine (which I usually don't like because of all the supplement ads) and there was a line up of fitness competition winners. . .with their heights and weight. The two that were my height weighed about what I do (one minus about 5 pounds). This was very validating for me.
So, lots of water, lots of planned protein balanced meals, and the gym a bit later. Hope you all have a wonderful day. . .

Take care.:flowerforyou:0 -
I've heard of these strange people that like going to the dentist. Something about their mouth feeling clean. I wouldn't mind going if it was only a cleaning and never having to make another appointment. But I have bad teeth - lots o' crowns - so a cleaning usually evolves into a cavity, crown, or something that takes all the money I've been saving. This stuff is covered in Canada, eh?
Good luck with the Garage Sale, MM. Did you advertise in the paper? I'm coming up to the big D tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully all the traffic on I-35 going to your garage sale will be done by then. My BIL is coming down from London (Ontario).
I'm reading a new "diet" book,"The end of overeating : taking control the insatiable American appetite." I already got a great quote from it from an overweight journalist interviewed for the book (paraphrasing) "I understand the mentality of the suicide bomber more than I understand the person who does not think about food."
I heard about this book on Fresh Air (NPR) and just got it from the library. I'm not sure what I think about it yet. So far, it seems obvious - we are programed to eat sugar, salt, and fat when they are available - and nowadays, they are always available and added to almost all restaurant cooking.
Anyway, today: bike ride and walk.

Nope, not covered (I don't think). But, it's covered through my insurance from my teaching.
And, yes. . .scarily. . .that quote makes a little bit of sense to me. I have a friend who can keep cookies in her house, eat one (or half of one) every few days and think that's enough. I do NOT for the life of me understand how that is possible. If I bring a bag of cookies into the house, I'm eating a bag of cookies. As soon as possible.:noway:0 -

Same here. In fact, the author (a normal weight MD), tested himself by buying two chocolate chip cookies and placing them on plates in front of him. He could not stop thinking about them. Had to leave the house, ended up at a coffee shop and ordered a cookie there. :laugh:0 -
I hate going to the dentist. I had to set up a cleaning the other day because I am getting worried about my teeth. No available opening until Sept 21st! :grumble: If I had an emergency I could get in sooner, obviously. Hope it goes well V.
Mary, if you pass through Bedford come say hi! We are only a mile off 121/183! It would be net to meet you in person. I won't make you buy anything either.Let me know if you can stop for a minute, I'll PM you my address. No pressure!
Okay now I really have to get to the store.

All goals accomplished for the day! Just burned 700 calories on my super-scary circuit the trainer emailed me, and tested at 18 pushups. I thought I'd do more. I went on to do forty more during the course of the workout, so at least that made me feel good.
I'm always so perky when the dentist is over. I was told my teeth look "good and strong". I'm not sure if that's the technical term.
